Prevents from Evil

A person who prays five times a day has a strong connection with the High, Exalted One. So it is impossible for a man with such a strong belief to do or think of something evil.

Brings Blessings

A person who has a habit of praying Salah regularly and on time, Almighty Allah doesn’t leave him alone and shower His blessings upon His beloved.

Nourishes Soul

The sole purpose of mankind on this earth is to worship Almighty Allah. If one doesn’t fulfill that purpose, his soul will not be satisfied with anything but only by worshipping Allah. And if a person recognizes that purpose and tries to fulfill it, then Salah is a source for nourishment for his soul.

Makes us humble:

Allah doesn’t like pride and arrogance. So we should believe that a person who prays the obligatory prayers becomes humble as he bows down to the will of Almighty Allah.

We as Muslims believe that everything we do, must not anger the Highest, Exalted One so that we might be able to receive his bounties and blessings. We as Muslims must realize that whatever we do in life if Prayer is not our first priority, we’ll always be lost. Because if we’re not fulfilling our only responsibility in life, how can we focus on other things or what will be the use of anything else if we’re not setting our priorities right?

The only thing that is differentiating us from non-Muslims is Salah and if we’re not focusing on that, how will we distinguish them from ourselves?

The importance of Salah can’t be denied and our Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) also emphasized the significance of Salah by stating that: “Know that among your duties, prayer is foremost”.

It is located at 4324 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011, USA. It’s not a very big mosque but if you are anywhere nearby it during any prayer time, you can always go pray there. It has a separate hall for women who want to pray there.

Diyanet Center of America

It is located at 9610 Good Luck Rd, Lanham, MD 20706, United States. The beautiful mosque has an eye captivating Turkish Architecture. It contains a conference hall, cultural center, library, pool, cafe etc. It has a praying capacity for 1500 people and if we include the courtyard, approximately 3000 people can pray there.

Mustafa Center

It is located at 2311 M St NW #401, Washington, DC 20037, United States. It is a spacious mosque which provides the facility for daily prayers, Jummah prayer, Tahajjud prayer, Taraweeh and Eid prayers. So if you ever come across this mosque during any prayer time, throw your excuses aside and pray!

Jummah Prayer and Timing:

Jummah is a Holy Day for Muslims. On this day, they take shower, brush their teeth, wear clean or new clothes, cut their hair and nails if necessary, use fragrance and then go for praying Jummah.

The meaning of Jummah is the congregation. On this day, Muslims gather and stand in front of One and Only Lord for worshipping. Jummah Prayer praying on Friday instead of Dhuhr Prayer times. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed for Jummah (Friday prayer), come fast to the remembrance of Allah”.

The importance of Jummah Prayer is recognized by the fact that this day brings blessings for Muslims. The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) said:

“There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat and asks something from Allah Almighty, then Allah will definitely fulfill his demands and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) pointed out the shortness of that particular time with his hands.” (Bukhari)

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) says the value of prayer in congregation in the mosque rather than individual value and promised spiritual rewards, such as answered prayers and forgiveness for their sins.
